05/11/13 - Wye River - Johanna Beach

After a nice walk on the beach at Wye River and taking some photos, we set off again.

Stopping off at Cape Patton Lookout on the way

we came to Apollo Bay

After a wander around town, stocking up on some supplies and getting diesel, we moved on to our destination for the day, Johanna Beach. This was a spot we had to visit for obvious reasons, even if only to ascertain that it was as attractive as its' namesake!

This beach is named after a ship that was wrecked here, the Joanna, and is spelled Johanna on most maps and signs.

There is a great free camp spot here, where we were assured by the few people that were still here that we shouldn't have turned up yesterday (Tuesday - Melbourne Cup Day) as there was not a spot to be had even for a little tent!
