Wynyard is quite a pretty little town, as so many towns in Tassie are. Especially went here to look up some friends we had lost touch with. They were in the Glenelg Hostel at the same as us in 1965 but had moved all over the place, even lived in the US (through work) for a while. Last known address was here in Wynyard, but when we went there they were no longer there.
I did however manage to find a phone no for their son, who was 13 in 1965 when I was 21. We met up with George Jr and his Scottish wife Vivian and we had a marvellous few days with them. It was quite strange as our age gap in 1965 was quite large, but now we were closer in age than I am to his father who is now 86!
George Snr and wife Corrie are now living in Wodonga Vic, where their daughter Joyce and youngest son Peter also live. No doubt we will be in touch as Wodonga is only about 200km from our place in Vic.
We spent the day with George Jr and Vivian being taken around the place, including Stanley where we had some delicious fish and chips for lunch.
