Left Longford to head for George Town, stopping on the way at the Batman Bridge over the Tamar River at Sidmouth.
On to George Town close to the mouth of the Tamar River, here is one of the tree carvings that seem to be all over the place in Tasmania. These are done with a chain saw!
Following the north coast to Bridport, another picturesque seaside town.
Heading inland via Scottsdale we detoured to Legerwood, where there is a whole avenue of tree carvings. These trees wee all planted after World War I, as there were Avenues of Honour in so many Australian towns, one tree for each soldier from that town killed in the war.
In about 2004 these trees were all in a sad state and due to be cut down. Someone came up with the idea to turn them in to tree carvings, and this was done.
