Day 4 - 09/07/2013 - Bourke - Charleville

First thing this morning we went back to the Visitor Centre to deliver Tricia's pens, when we arrived at 8:55am as soon as she saw us she was jumping up and down and shouting "they're here, they're here"!
Always nice to have a happy customer, and I was certainly a happy seller.

Before heading for Charleville we decided to have another look around Bourke, first stop was the Lock and Weir about 5km out of town on the Darling (obviously!).
 
This was to be the first of 44 locks planned for the Darling but this was the only one actually built as by then the riverboat trade was being replaced by the railways.

Whilst I was trying to take photos of the lock and weir this woman kept walking in to my photos!

 

Oh, I think she got the message!

Back in to Bourke to have a look around the wharf area.

There was an interesting old engine on display as well

Off we went, direction north for the Queensland border, hopefully for some warmer weather!

Our destination was just out of Charleville-Qld where we had selected a free camp spot on the Ward River.
