After leaving Babinda we headed in the direction of Townsville and made a detour to Lucinda where they have a large sugar loading jetty which juts out 5.7km in to the sea.
The ever present warning signs at the beach, have to say we haven't seen a decent beach yet!
Not that we mind, we're not really beach people.
Coming in to Ingham we had to wait for the ever present sugar cane train.
Decided to call it a day at a free camp site at Toomulla Beach, 40kms north of Townsville, quite a pleasant spot where we talked to quite a few of our fellow campers.
It is quite interesting to see the difference in behaviour of people at free camp sites and caravan parks. They tend to be much friendlier and talkative at the free camp sites!
I haven't talked to this many people in years.
