Left the Ward River campsite, which was about 5km off the Diamantina Development Road, reputedly Australia's longest road, or so the sign says (hey we are in Queensland).
After a brief walk around Charleville, not the most RV friendly town, and taking a little time to find the (unsignposted) dump point (at the airport of all places!) we headed off for Barcaldine.
Stopped at a place called Augathella,
which has a sculpture of a giant meat ant (I kid you not!).
Apparently they have (had) a rugby team called after the meat ants.
After a quick lunch we hit the road again for Barcaldine, more of that anon.
